- How does 3D photography work?
Your brain perceives depth by detecting the subtle differences between what you see via your left and right eyes.
The brain can be tricked into seeing depth in a photograph if two photos are taken,
roughly eye-distance apart and then viewed so that the left eye sees only the left image and
the right eye sees only the right image.

- How can 3D photos be viewed?
There are several methods of viewing 3D photos, including hand-held viewers, looking at prints with special 3D glasses, and 3D digital displays that enable the viewing of 3D images without the need to wear special glasses. However, the easiest and highest quality method of viewing 3D images and 3D video is via a 3D television while wearing matching 3D glasses.

- In what form will I receive my photos?
The photos will be available in a variety of formats, including MPO (the standard file type for 3D photos), parallel and red/cyan anaglyph. You will receive all files on a USB drive as well as an archive-grade gold CD or DVD.
3D video will be supplied on a USB drive as a 1080i H264 encoded MTS file formatted as half-width 3D, the format compatible with most 3D televisions.
- Who will own the copyright on the photos?
We will sign over all copyright to you, so that you may legally do what you like with the photos without needing permission from us.
- Can everyone view the 3D photos?
No. In order to see the 3D photos in all their glory, you must have two eyes that work well. Anybody with only one good eye will have no benefit by having 3D photos.
Additionally, there are some cases in which even people with two good eyes have trouble seeing 3D photos clearly.
We strongly recommend seeing a sample before committing to this service.
- What is the resolution of the images?
The unedited original photos will have a resolution of 3648 x 2736 pixels. Some cropping is a normal part of the process of making the images into 3D, but most 3D images will be at least 2500 x 1825 pixels.
- How many photos will we receive?
This is difficult to answer, because each event is different. Typically, one to two hundred photos will be taken (sometimes more), but 3D photography is not like normal photography. Not all photos will end up being suitable to be made into 3D photos. You can expect at least 50 good 3D photos.
- Do I use you instead of a normal professional photographer?
That is up to you. Each 3D photo can also be viewed as a normal "flat" photo, but if you have another photographer that you prefer to take your "normal" photos, and if they're happy to work with us, then we're also happy to work that way.
- In what locations will you work?
Normally, I service only the Sydney metropolitan area bounded by Brooklyn in the north, Waterfall in the south, Campbelltown in the south-west, Penrith in the west, and Richmond in the north-west. Arrangements can be made to service other areas.
- What is your service going to cost?
There are so many variables that it's impossible to give a simple answer to that.
